Nine-time Group 1 winner Mr Brightside put in a strong run in a jump-out at Flemington on Friday ahead of his trip to Hong Kong this autumn. The Lindsay Park-trained gelding is set to fly out on Monday to prepare for the Champions Mile.

Chris Waller has won his second Group 1 Newmarket Handicap at Flemington thanks to a dominant performance from his rising mare Joliestar. The four-year-old finished first with a clear one and a quarter length over the runner up, Headwall.

Tom Kitten won the Group 1 All-Star Mile at Flemington on Saturday. It was the gelding’s second G1 win and his first win at Group level this season. Lindsay Park’s Mr Brightside finished second, with Light Infantry Man in third.

Revelare and jockey Ryan Hurdle have done it again. The Robert Hickmott-trained gelding has now won five straight races after winning a Benchmark 84 run at Flemington on Saturday. He now could be in the running for this year’s Melbourne Cup at the same racecourse.

After a poor start to the 2024/25 horse racing season, trainer Chris Waller is hoping his four-year-old mare Joliestar can turn things around on Saturday in the Group 1 Newmarket Handicap at Flemington. Joliestar has not won a race since August 2024.

Trainer Bjorn Baker has confirmed that his three-year-old horse Point And Shoot will race in this year’s Group 1 Australian Guineas at Flemington Racecourse this Saturday. The gelding has won three of his six starts so far this racing season.

Clinton McDonald’s Angel Capital solidified his status as the Group 1 Australian Guineas favourite this week with an impressive exhibition run at Cranbourne on Monday. He also finished first in his prior competitive race, the Group 2 Autumn Stakes at Caulfield.

Chris Waller’s Joliestar looks likely to pick up in 2025 where she left off in 2024 following a strong trial run at Rosehill on Saturday. Her trainer says she could make her 2025 debut at Flemington in the Group 1 Newmarket Handicap.
