After months of speculation, the Lindsay Park training team have confirmed that Mr Brightside will be headed to Hong Kong. The Hayes brothers plan on running the 9-time Group 1-winner in the G1 Champions Mile at Sha Tin Racecourse next month.

Chris Waller’s Via Sistina won the Group 1 Ranvet Stakes at Rosehill Gardens Racecourse on Saturday. The seven-year-old mare has now won 8 Group 1 races in her career and seven since coming to Australia one year ago.

Bellazaine and North England are not among the Golden Slipper betting favourites for the $5 million race next week. However, co-trainer Gai Waterhouse says that she thinks her gallopers have what it takes to impress at Rosehill Gardens on March 22.

Legendary Pride Of Jenni is officially back from retirement. The mare won the Peter Young Stakes at Caulfield on Saturday. It’s too early to tell whether she is back to her best, trainer Ciaron Maher has big plans for the mare.

Promising filly Pleasure Queen pulled off a dominant win at Randwick on Wednesday. Co-trainer Sterling Alexiou now says he plans to enter his horse in stakes races to close out the season. Next month’s Group 2 Percy Sykes Stakes is the most likely race for Pleasure Queen.

Upset Red Phantom won the Echuca Cup on Sunday. His stablemate Capper Thirtynine –the favourite– finished first to give Flemington-based trainer Nick Ryan a quinella in the $100,000 country cup.

Chris Waller has won his second Group 1 Newmarket Handicap at Flemington thanks to a dominant performance from his rising mare Joliestar. The four-year-old finished first with a clear one and a quarter length over the runner up, Headwall.

Tom Kitten won the Group 1 All-Star Mile at Flemington on Saturday. It was the gelding’s second G1 win and his first win at Group level this season. Lindsay Park’s Mr Brightside finished second, with Light Infantry Man in third.

Revelare and jockey Ryan Hurdle have done it again. The Robert Hickmott-trained gelding has now won five straight races after winning a Benchmark 84 run at Flemington on Saturday. He now could be in the running for this year’s Melbourne Cup at the same racecourse.

After a poor start to the 2024/25 horse racing season, trainer Chris Waller is hoping his four-year-old mare Joliestar can turn things around on Saturday in the Group 1 Newmarket Handicap at Flemington. Joliestar has not won a race since August 2024.
