Racing comes back to Ballarat racecourse and Coffs Harbour racecourse this Monday to kick off a solid week of racing and off the back of Saturday’s solid listed racing where we did very well with our free horse racing tips and hit quite a few bets. I am keen to get the ball rolling again this week and have gone through the two aforementioned cards and picked out a best bet and best outside chance of the day. Best Tip: Ballarat - R5 - #1 - Bower Boy

Gone very close has Bower Boy in two runs to kick the career off for the Hayes boys and I think that he shapes up well here third up to get the maiden win out the way now. He last ran at Benalla a couple weeks ago when stepping out as a short priced favourite but not getting any favours when being forced wide throughout the run, still finding enough strength to give a kick in the straight in a very impressive run but he just wasn’t able to go on with the winner there. Third up, from a good gate and hard fit he should be winning here.

Best Roughie: Coffs Harbour - R6 - #6 - Better Explain

Better Explain is one I am taking a bit of a punt on as he has showed up with some mixed form in his three starts back this time in but I think that there was clearly some issues last time out at Rosehill and he now drops far back in depth, still hard fit and ready to atone for that effort. The start prior he was wide no cover in the early part of the run at Newcastle before working home very powerfully to place third in a strong effort. That race has had two subsequent horses win since and I think that fourth up now he can replicate and improve upon that two back effort.

At Ballarat, runners outside of around the ten suffer at least a length’s advantage due to the uniquely challenging nature of the straight
