It hit the track on September 14 and Dashing Duchess didn’t have the best run at Flemington. But that was on a heavy track and this mare loves good conditions. She has won 4 of 5 starts on these type of tracks. Saturday's race sees some good odds to have a crack, I think. With Teodore Nugent on board, that gives me confidence too. Previously, 1st of 8 at Moonee Valley Open on August 24, 2024 over 2500m. Very good stats when it's racing at this 2400m distance. I think it's a real genuine each way chance and could win this.

Stats and Insights

It has been noted by stewards and sharp punters recently that being on pace and close to the rail has been the best place/places to be at Rosehill in recent times, a track that is known to change every couple of months in terms of bias so take good note of that.

Caulfield Racecourse is a tighter track than Flemington and suits on pacers more until distances past 1600m.

The first 3-4 races in most meetings are called "Maidens" and these races are usually risky and unpredictable. This is because the runners are usually making their debut or have only had a few starts. So it's advisable to stay from these races unless you have a good bankroll.
