Expect Taken to be a strong contender - it’s my best bet for Thursday. Stuck on well to grab second last race, proving fitness and class. This gate should allow him to get into a rhythm without using too much energy. Expect Damian Lane to be in control this Thursday. Their experience and race craft make them a strong contender for the win. From the Mick Price & Michael Kent (Jnr) Stable, you can expect a quality horse. Hasn’t cracked this distance yet, but should enjoy it on Thursday. Despite no wins yet at Pakenham, Taken has had some solid performances here. Winless so far - I think it’s definitely due. Still searching for a win on this type of surface, but has placed a few times.

I like the potential of Gogmagog to possibly get the win or run a place. With a record of three straight placings, Gogmagog is showing it can keep up with the best. Gogmagog competed at Wyong over 1000m, finishing 3rd. Jumped from barrier 2, carried 57.5kg, and was ridden by Mollie Fitzgerald. Drawn to get the run of the race with minimal early work needed. Jockey Rachel King is looking sharp ahead of Thursday. With their keen eye and strong race judgment, they’ll be a key factor. Gogmagog is in good hands with Ms K Gavenlock, a trainer with a track record for producing top-tier horses. Has experience at this track, with a 40% win percentage and 3 placings. Stepping into the unknown on a soft track, but well-bred for it. If the track gets even more heavy, it will likely enjoy it.
