I'm a big fan of Shangri La Spring in Race 6 at Hawkesbury on Thursday. On November 5, won over 1200m at Kembla Grange, carrying 57.5kg. That was a solid win, so I believe that Shangri La Spring can win on Thursday as well. Good win rate, knows how to get the job done. There has been plenty of rain around the track but Shangri La Spring has been good before in these tricky conditions. All in all, I think this runner has a good chance of taking this race or at least running a place.

I think Shamrock Bay can bounce back after a tough run at The Valley last start. She came last in that field but it was a lot tougher. I can see this race being a bit easier. She has a good record at the track and the distance hasn’t been an issue before. Shamrock Bay and jockey Craig Newitt have formed a good combo too with a 1st and 2 thirds in 4 career starts together. Good odds for an each-way bet.

On the weekend, Kimochi stormed home to beat Another Wil in the Sir Rupert Clarke Stakes. While in the Guineas, Another Prophet took home the win, holding off the field in the straight. In The Hunter, Briasa made it 6 wins from 7 starts and Tyler Schiller continued his winning ways in the saddle, now with 4 wins in 4 starts on board.

The Spring Racing Carnival is almost over but we still have some Group one races to watch this Saturday. Over in WA, the Railway Stakes will take place at Ascot Racecourse and The Gong is the feature race at Kembla Grange in NSW.
