Racing comes back to Pakenham and Kembla Grange this Thursday for two very solid cards of racing in VIC and NSW and we come off the back of a very solid day in racing this past Wednesday with our free horse racing tips going quite well across the two aforementioned states and I am keen to keep the momentum going as we look towards friday night’s racing under the lights at Moonee Valley. In this article I have picked out my best bet and best outside chance of the day across the two of them. I’ve also outlined our best promotion across the aussie betting sites. Best Tip: Pakenham - R5 - #3 - Marble Arch

Marble Arch should be ready to fire here for the Hayes boys. He’s had three runs back from an 18 week spell and really got going in the most recent one when stepping out to Saturday grade at Caulfield a couple weeks back and after being taken back from the wide barrier he really got going late in a flash effort that saw him place second behind a very sharp winner. That form and his rating out of that run read more than well enough for this assignment and I think all things being equal he wins this.

Best Roughie: Kembla Grange - R6 - #5 - Suspect

I have my suspicions that Suspect is quietly a very progressive horse for Mitch Beer. He came over from Waller to the camp at the beginning of the year and was worked along in the paddock before returning from a 22 week spell to make his debut for the new camp at the Hawkesbury where he came from fifth along the fence to jet away very nicely in the straight and only find one better in what looks like a smart horse. He’s been turned around quickly for this, has plenty of upside and draws nicely here. He only runs well IMO.

Stats and Insights

Kembla Grange is a very spacious course that is different to a lot of other provincial racecourses and mimics something more like Randwick which lends plenty of opportunity for runners to come on strongly late in the piece.

Pakenham is one of the smallest tracks in the country, with only 1400m circumference and as such suited to front-runners and those horses with the ability to race handy to the pace

Often, at 1400m - 1600m at Pakenham winners predominantly emerge from barriers 5-8 which suggests those horses who either fire straight onto the speed or those that sit just behind the speed have the greatest chances.
