Meanwhile, my roughie of the day is Son Of Zorro at Mornington in Race 7. At Mornington, the track conditions should be nice for race day, it's a good 4 rating at the moment. Sioux Spirit is resuming on Tuesday and has won before when she was first-up before. So she usually likes to run fresh. Last prep, she strugged at this track, finishing 6th of 9. However, she has had a few jumpouts before this run and has looked impressive. She also came 2nd last prep at Flemington in a 16 horse field. I think this race should suit and she’ll likely get a good run from the 2 Barrier.

Last run, he finished 3rd at Mornington over 1000m. Should be right in the thick of things. Usually likes running on good tracks with 7 placings in 10 starts. Has enjoyed plenty of success at Mornington with a 100% record of finishing in the top-three. Rates a terrific each-way play, I think.

Last weekend we witnessed five quality Group 1 races at Flemington and Rosehill. Mr Brightside held on to win the Champions Mile and Via Sistina continued her winning ways in the Champions Stakes. This week, the Spring Racing carnival continues with the Sir Rupert Clarke Stakes, Thousand Guineas and The Hunter. Another Wil is the current favourite to win the Stakes and Aeliana is currently a short-priced favourite to win the Guineas.
