Altermatum is rated as Wednesday’s best bet, with form and conditions in its favour. Altermatum has consistently finished in the placings over the past three races. Could be caught wide early, but has the stamina to overcome it. Harry Coffey will guide Altermatum and given their record, they’ll give the horse every chance to shine. The attention to detail in T & C McEvoy's training methods makes Altermatum a contender. Untried at this trip but I think it will enjoy it.

If you’re looking for an outsider with a shot, Silencio Porfavor might be your best bet. Finished outside the top four, but had some encouraging moments in the race. Last time out, Silencio Porfavor competed over 1000m, placing 9th at Warwick Farm. Jumped from barrier 6, carried 57kg, and starting price of $2.40 odds. Jockey Kerrin McEvoy gets the ride on Wednesday. They're a talented jockey with a good race sense. Silencio Porfavor has been under the wing of Matthew Smith. Usually loves these track conditions.

The racing at Randwick created an exciting Saturday last week because several horses delivered exceptional performances. The Country Championships Final provided Know Thyself with a momentous success. Vinrock demonstrated superior racing ability by winning the Inglis Sires' Produce Stakes. Briasa stunned the field in the TJ Smith Stakes after it passed heavily favoured Overpass during the race. The promising Stefi Magnetica gave trainer Bjorn Baker a massive win in the Doncaster Mile, followed by the well-favoured Aeliana, who produced a dominating performance in the Australian Derby.

Five Group one races headline the Randwick meeting this Saturday including the highly anticipated $5 million Queen Elizabeth Stakes. The Sydney Cup utilises 3,200 metres for authentic staying races and the Australian Oaks pits three-year-old fillies against each other over 2,400 metres before elite mares battle it out in the Queen of the Turf Stakes running a mile distance.
