Mawjood: Last start, finished 3rd of 6 at Randwick in a BM72 over 1100m, just 0.6 lengths behind Point And Shoot (52kg) carrying 54kg at $3.40.

Storm The Ramparts: In its last race, Storm The Ramparts was 4th at Randwick on December 26 over 1000m, just 1.2 lengths behind Chief Conductor (56.5kg). This should be another race where I think it can potentially improve and get over the field.

Chief Conductor: Should be fitter after a nice first-up run. He finished 2nd at Randwick on a good track over 1000m. He has an impressive second-up record and the track/distance should be no issue.

Kimberley Secrets: Back from a long spell and usually likes running fresh. In first-up starts, she has 2 wins and a 3rd from just 3 starts. Distance is suitable and she should enjoy the softer conditions.

Macedon Rose: I like the form of Macedon Rose for Race 7 at Pakenham on Friday. Won at Seymour over 1300m on December 29.

Vaderlee: In great form at the moment. Coming off a win at Cranbourne and before that finished 2nd over 1400m. Loves the trip and the track conditions should suit.

Glenfinnan: Back from a spell and looking to build on a successful first prep, which included a win at Seymour over 1411m. Likes running fresh and should be dangerous.

Cosmic Coco: Resuming on Friday. He has won before at this distance and should be in the mix.

Semana: First-up record is excellent (1st and 2nd in 2 starts). She loves the trip and has won before on the Gold Coast in her only attempt. Go well again.

Hedged: It hit the track on December 14 and Hedged put in a solid effort, finishing 7th out of 11. Friday's race sees some good odds to have a crack, I think. With Ethan Brown on board, that gives me confidence too.

Prince Of Boom: In its recent race at Sunshine Coast, Prince Of Boom came in third, not too far behind 1st and 2nd. After that run, it should have a good chance of running a place in this race. James Orman is in good form and should be able to get a good run.

The Novelist: Loves this distance with 2 wins in 6 starts and should enjoy the inside Barrier.
