Best Exotic Bets of the Day | 28/02/25

On Friday, I have looked through the field at Moonee Valley and Canterbury and found some races that I think should be suitable for an exacta bet. Get the best bets at Only Racing!

1st: 4, 1, 5, 9

2nd: 4, 1, 5, 9

Justaboom: Including Justaboom could pay off this Friday. A strong fourth last start, doing well in a competitive field. Last start performance, Justaboom placed 4th over 1600m at Sandown-Lakeside. Carried 59kg, guided by Shane Foley, and started at $11.00.

Rich Champagne: I think Rich Champagne is primed to figure in a big exotic payout. Led from the front and won convincingly in the last start.

Onlygoldwilldo: Onlygoldwilldo brings great value to exotics. Didn’t place in the top four, but certain aspects of the run suggested improvement is coming. Onlygoldwilldo ran at Moonee Valley on 14/02/2025, finishing 6th in a 2040m event. Jockey Jett Stanley was aboard, carrying 57kg. Track was rated soft. Track record isn’t inspiring, but anything can happen at Moonee Valley on Friday.

Diamanda: Diamanda is a strong candidate for exacta bets. Beaten only narrowly last race, shaping as a serious contender. Last outing, Diamanda took on a 1600m race at Pakenham and finished 2nd. Carried 54kg, started at $14.00, and handled a good surface.

Just Like Gaby: Take note of Just Like Gaby this Friday. Took the last race by storm with a commanding win. Just Like Gaby competed at Moonee Valley over 1000m, finishing 1st. Jumped from barrier 1, carried 57kg, and was ridden by Thomas Stockdale. At this track, the record is positive. Familiarity with the Moonee Valley track should give her an advantage.

Excelindeed: I expect Excelindeed to play a role. A winner last time out, bringing great form into this race. Excelindeed raced recently, placing 1st in a 1200m event at Seymour. Jockey Beau Mertens guided the runner, carrying 58kg. Started at $6.00 odds.

Khadime: You might regret leaving Khadime out of your exotic bets this Friday. Missed the top four but showed enough to suggest a stronger performance is near. Last time out, Khadime competed over 1100m, placing 6th at Flemington. Jumped from barrier 3, carried 55kg, and starting price of $31.00 odds.

Captain Link: Captain Link could be the missing piece in a big payout bet. A game runner-up last start, finishing strongly in the final stages. Last start, Captain Link finished in the placings over 1200m at Pakenham on 13/02/2025. Carried 58.5kg under Ben Melham, started at $7.00. Track rated good.

Battle Hymn: Battle Hymn is a key player in my exotic bets. In its third-ever race, Battle Hymn is starting to show signs of adapting to the competition. Last start performance, Battle Hymn placed 2nd over 1000m at Wyong. Carried 58kg, guided by Ashley Morgan, and started at $1.80. Winning as often as not on good tracks, could go it again. 

Pinito: Back from a spell and usually runs well fresh, has placed in both first-up runs. Comes off a few trials and should get a good run from the inside draw. J-Mac on board and trained by Godolphin's head trainer - James Cummings.

Southern Charm: An overlooked contender, Southern Charm could be key to exotic success. Only just denied victory last race, finishing a gallant second. Southern Charm stepped out at Scone, finishing 2nd over 1100m. Raced on a good surface, carrying 61kg under Adam Hyeronimus.

Shirvington: Shirvington might not be the favourite, but it could be a game-changer in exotics. With each race, Shirvington is learning more, and its third start marks another step forward. Shirvington lined up at Wyong, finishing 1st over 1100m. Backed at $2.05, jumped from barrier 8, and carried 58kg under Ashley Morgan.
