Exotic Bets of the Day

The racing continues at Pakenham, Ararat and Gosford on Thursday and this article will give you horse racing tips for 3 of the best races that I think you should watch out for.

Exacta - Pakenham - R5

1st: 1, 8, 9, 7

2nd: 1, 8, 9, 7

Last Druid: Last Druid is a useful runner for exotic bets. He has placed third-up in the past and is progressing nicely this prep. He resumed with a 6th of 10 at Wyong in a Benchmark 64 on February 27 over 1000m. In his second-up run, he raced on the speed and boxed on gamely to run 3rd of 7 at Sandown-Hillside in a Benchmark 74 on March 12 over 1000m on a slow track. Fitter now and trending in the right direction, he looks poised to figure in the finish.

Fluent: She returned from a four-month break with a solid performance, tracking the speed and boxing on to finish 2nd of 7 at Sandown-Hillside in a 3YO Fillies. Her previous second-up run came at Bendigo, where she eased back early and ran 4th in a small field. With natural fitness progression, she has a strong chance.

Rose De Vellor: I expect Rose De Vellor to play a role in exotic bets. Rose De Vellor resumes from a six-month spell and brings genuine talent into this tougher assignment. She ended her last prep with a strong 2nd placing at Mornington in a 3YO Fillies Benchmark 64 on September 29 over 1000m on a soft track. Her debut effort was equally impressive, winning by half a length at Pakenham Synthetic in a Maiden. She’s lightly raced with upside, and despite the break, she’s one not to overlook.

Self Serve: Self Serve delivered an encouraging debut and deserves consideration for Thursday’s punters, even with the step up in class. She raced near the speed and showed determination to claim victory by a head at Warrnambool in a 3YO Maiden on March 10 over 1000m.

Exacta - Ararat - R7

1st: 3, 6, 4, 5

2nd: 3, 6, 4, 5

Innocent Enuff: Innocent Enuff looks a strong chance and continues to race well in tougher company. She’s showing solid consistency and has been right there in recent runs. At her latest start, she raced on the speed and held her ground for 3rd of 7 at Wangaratta. Prior to that, she also sat on the pace and boxed on for another 3rd at Kilmore. She’s consistent and looks well placed to be in the finish again.

Marbilla: She’s been ultra-consistent and comes into this off a 30-day freshen-up. Last time out, she ran 3rd of 7 at Sale. The run prior was another 3rd, this time at Kilmore. She’s holding form well and deserves serious consideration.

Sunburnt: Sunburnt is in the mix for exotics. Last start, she was sent out favourite and delivered. Before that, she finished 3rd of 9 in a Benchmark 58 at the same track on February 7 over 1100m. With recent winning form and a suitable setup, she’ll be right in the mix again.

Flitgrove: A solid exotic bet should include Flitgrove, given the form on display. Flitgrove returns from a four-month spell and is a must-consider, especially off a promising debut campaign. She resumes in equal grade and should show improvement from her first prep.

Exacta - Gosford - R5

1st: 5, 9, 4, 2

2nd: 5, 9, 4, 2

Prime Impact: Prime Impact is a roughie worth considering for exotic bets. He finds a more suitable contest this time and could improve sharply after a few tough runs.

Kenmare Bay: Kenmare Bay looks well placed to break through third-up, with form that suggests he’s ready to win. He has previously won when third-up and comes into this off two solid runner-up finishes. First-up, he ran on well from midfield to finish 2nd of 7 at Wyong over 1350m. He followed that up with another second placing in a Conditional Benchmark 68 at Wyong. With ideal conditions, he’s ready to go one better.

Our Uptown Girl: I think Our Uptown Girl will be an important inclusion for this Thursday exacta. She steps up in stronger class but is clearly in form. At her most recent run, she scored a head victory in a Benchmark 64 at Hawkesbury on March 18 over 2000m. Before that, she finished 4th of 8 at Kembla Grange in a Benchmark 64. Ideally placed and racing well, she looks capable of notching back-to-back wins.

All Hunky Dory: I think All Hunky Dory is primed to figure in a big exotic payout. He comes off back-to-back wins and looks primed for another bold showing. Most recently, he came from midfield to score by 1.3 lengths at Port Macquarie in a Benchmark 58 on March 3 over 1509m. While the rise in class is a test, his current form is hard to knock.
