Drifting should be important for multi bets, carrying strong expectations. Came home outside the top four, showing competitive spirit but lacking consistency. Coming off a strong performance in its last start. Last start at Flemington over 1100m on 14/09/2024, Drifting was at $2.70 and finished 9th, behind by 4.9 lengths while carrying 58.5kg with Jamie Melham aboard. The horse coming out of barrier 9 in a Open contest on a soft track.

However, Drifting showed good early speed two starts ago and could lead in this one too. Connections will get to watch their horse run around with Jye Mcneil in the saddle on Saturday. I'm backing Influential to be one of the stronger legs in multi-bets for Saturday. Strong performance last start, finishing a close second. A bold run last time suggests another big effort is possible. Competing at Doomben on 22/01/2025, Influential covered 1350m, placing 2nd out of 15. The horse carried 60kg with Kyle Wilson-Taylor aboard and was with a margin of 1.0 lengths, having started at $5.00 jumping from barrier 15. The race took place on a good track too.
