Sacrify is knocking on the door for a breakthrough performance and looks like a strong place chance in this 2000m contest.

He’s been ultra-consistent, finishing third in his last start over 1600m at Pakenham, showing he handles the track well. His 100% top-three record at Pakenham is a big plus, and stepping up in distance could be exactly what he needs.

Jamie Mott stays in the saddle and he’s drawn barrier 5, giving him every chance to settle well and finish strongly. While he hasn’t tackled this distance before, his racing pattern suggests he’ll relish the extra ground.

With a solid top-three record on good tracks (3 placings from 5 starts), Sacrify is a great each-way or place bet in this field. Expect him to be right in the finish!

Shadow Shot is in great form and looks a strong contender to run well at Scone over 2200m.

He comes off a solid fourth at Newcastle over 2300m, and before that, he won at Orange over 2100m. His career horse/jockey record is strong (2 wins, 1 second from 4 rides with Clayton Gallagher), and getting him back in the saddle is a big positive.

Barrier 4 should allow him to find a good position early, and with his consistent performances on good tracks, he should be right in the mix.

Bullfighter is stepping up to 1400m for the first time. This could be the key to unlocking his best form. His only run on a good track resulted in a 2nd place and he looks much better suited here than in his last start on a heavy track at the Gold Coast, where he struggled.

Before that, he ran a solid third over 1000m at Canberra, showing he has the ability. He’s drawn well in barrier 4, and with Winona Costin back aboard, he should get every chance to settle into a good position.
