Kiwi flyer Canny Queen is another one that could lay down a challenge, with this horse very accustomed to the distance and the conditions. Form is more of a question mark though, with some quiet runs from its last few outings.

Stamina is the overriding quality of Waltham, who simply never gives up the running and conditions here at Randwick should suit. Beating Alalcance feels a tall order but Waltham has the potential to at least contend.

Here to compete and not make the numbers up is British stalwart Desert Hero. It enjoys an impressive record and standing in the UK but this will be a stern test and it may take a couple of races to get up to speed.
