BEST BET - #9 - Zloties - (BEST BET)
Zloties is marked as Wednesday’s best bet, with all signs pointing to success. A gritty third-place run last time, keeping within striking distance. Last start performance, Zloties placed 3rd over 1200m at Sandown-Lakeside. Carried 58kg, guided by Jordan Childs, and started at $4.00. If the track plays fair, the barrier shouldn’t be a major disadvantage. Dominates at this distance (1300m) - a specialist over this trip. Zloties has shown it can get the job done at Sandown, so don’t count it out today.

THE DANGER - #12 - Thames
Thames should not be overlooked as a serious contender. Kept up the fight to finish third last start, showing resilience. Thames raced recently, placing 3rd in a 1200m event at Pakenham. The draw could be tricky but not impossible to overcome.

VALUE BET - #10 - Narbold
Attractive odds make Narbold an interesting value selection. Narbold raced at Sale last start, covering 1415m and finishing 1st. Carried 58kg with Damian Lane aboard. Track was good. An awkward barrier, but with the right run, it’s still a winning chance. No wins at Sandown yet, but this could be the day Narbold turns things around.

BEST BET - #3 - Freight Train - (NEXT BEST)
Freight Train is tipped as the best bet for Wednesday, should have strong support. Winning experience is there, and it could show again on Wednesday. Thrives in good track conditions and should be competitive again. Good track stats with a win rate of 50% and place rate of 83.3%.

THE DANGER - #4 - Al Duca
Al Duca is an under-the-radar runner with the ability to upset the favourite. A winner last time out, bringing great form into this race. Al Duca competed at Moonee Valley over 1600m, finishing 1st. Jumped from barrier 2, carried 61kg, and was ridden by Mark Zahra. May have to work early to find a good position from this gate.

VALUE BET - #8 - Muktamil
Muktamil has generous odds on offer, this could be the best value selection. Finished fourth in the previous race, continuing to build momentum. Muktamil raced recently, placing 4th in a 2400m event at Geelong. Jockey Jamie Mott guided the runner, carrying 59kg. Started at $4.40 odds. This track is a favourite of Muktamil, and with a perfect record, it’s hard to see anything stopping him.

BEST BET - #9 - Our Queen
Our Queen is my Wednesday best bet, carrying the highest expectations of the card. Our Queen has consistently finished in the placings over the past three races. Our Queen ran at Moonee Valley on 21/02/2025, finishing 3rd in a 1600m event. Jockey Craig Williams was aboard, carrying 59kg. Good strike rate when it races on a good track.

THE DANGER - #11 - Farewell To Eire
Farewell To Eire has the credentials to trouble the race’s leading chances. Farewell To Eire has demonstrated remarkable consistency, placing in three straight races. Farewell To Eire raced at Caulfield last start, covering 1700m and finishing 3rd. Carried 54.5kg with Jamie Melham aboard. Track was good. Has the speed to make use of an inside barrier.

VALUE BET - #6 - Callmeanicon
Callmeanicon offers plenty of value for punters looking outside the top runners in this field. Didn’t crack the top four last start but was competitive for much of the race. Last start, Callmeanicon finished in the placings over 1700m at Flemington on 07/11/2024. Carried 60kg under Luke Nolen, started at $6.00. Track rated good. The barrier draw looks ideal for this runner, it usually likes a wide run. This trip of 1500m suits perfectly, proven performer time and time again.
